Cowichan Lake supports an important Cutthroat Trout fishery. To provide information on the natural and fishing mortality, Cutthroat Trout were caught by angling and tagged with acoustic transmitters and/or a $100 reward tag. Some acoustic transmitters were equipped with depth and temperature sensors.
